Traveling Calligrapher is dedicated in providing quality and unique wedding stationery with professional guidance through the design process. We offer calligraphy, illustration, watercolor and design + print, and a combination of all the elements. We create invitations to set the tone of your wedding as well as day-of materials such as seating charts and wedding signs to make your day unforgettable. We offer semi-custom designs (pre-made designs that we customize with your info) to full custom designs that allow for you to collaborate with us to create something that perfectly embodies your relationship and love.

Envelope Addressing

WHEN SHOULD WE SEND OUR INVITATIONS, SAVE THE DATES, THANK YOU'S AND EVERYTHING ELSE?


Planning a wedding is not easy, it feels like a full-time job juggling vendors and deadlines, but not to worry! Below is a general timeline to keep in mind when planning your wedding invites.​

  • 4-6 Months Prior to Wedding - Save the Dates

This can be even earlier if you're planning a wedding that requires guests to travel overseas or if you want your guests to have more time.

  • 3-4 Months Prior to Wedding - Destination Wedding Invitations

Your guests will appreciate the reminder so they have enough time to book flights, find accommodations, take time off of work, and other necessary tasks for travel.

  • 6-8 Weeks Prior to Wedding - Invitations along with RSVP response cards

This will give enough time for people to respond to your invite either online or through snail mail. The timining can be earlier if majority of guests are coming from far away. ​

  • 4 Weeks Prior to Wedding - RSVP deadline

Final head counts are necessary to move things along for wedding planners, vendors, and the venue.

  • Within 3 Months - Thank You Cards

Send a thank you card to anyone who have given you a gift. Send Thank you cards within 3 months after the wedding if gifts were received on the wedding day and for gifts received before or after the wedding day, try sending a thank you card within 2-3 weeks.




IS THERE A MINIMUM ORDER?


The minimum order is $350. This can be a combination of various items, such as invitations and return address printing, or info cards, menus, etc. Please feel free to contact us for more specific pricing information on various pieces.




WHAT IS THE TURNAROUND FOR ENVELOPE ADDRESSING ONLY?


Envelope addressing turnaround time is about 10 business days or 2 weeks for 100 envelopes. When it’s time to address envelopes, I should have received the envelopes from the client or the client may choose a preferred envelope design/color through Card & Pockets' (a stationery company) envelope color chart. Once a desired color is selected, you will then select the calligraphy style of your choice. The chosen style will be presented on the envelope color you have chosen, and the sample envelope will be sent to you via snail mail for review, if time permits.




WHAT IS THE DAY-OF-STATIONARY OPTION FOR WEDDING INVITATIONS?


The Day-of-Stationary option includes your choice of 3 of the following items: Welcome wedding sign, seating chart, menus, programs, escort/place cards, table numbers, and/or directional signs.

WHERE DOES YOUR ON-SITE CALLIGRAPHY TAKE PLACE?


We offer on-site calligraphy in any special occasions, conferences, corporate marketing displays, and retail stores.





Custom Invitations

WHAT IS THE INVITATION DESIGN PROCESS LIKE?


Once I receive your inquiry and collect all the information I need, I will provide you with a pricing estimate. If you decide to proceed with the booking, I will provide a project timeline to start the design process. The design process will include up to 2 rounds of revisions (send via email) to perfect and revise the invitations until perfection, print, assemble (optional), and ship! The process typically takes 6-8 weeks.




WHAT ARE YOUR PRINTING OPTIONS?


We offer letterpress, foil stamping, and digital/flat printing on quality paper. Letterpress and foiling costs depends on the final art submitted to the printing company. Prices may vary based on the amount of colors needed for letterpressing/foiling. Printing turnaround time begins once the invitations/stationary is approved by client. Printing time takes around 1-2 weeks depending on availability of the printing company, the art work and the printing method.

WHAT IS YOUR RUSH FEE POLICY?


Traveling Calligrapher's standard turn around time is 2-3 weeks. A rush order is any order requiring completion in less time than this 2-3 week window. Rush orders are not actually rushed, but because it requires work hours outside the normal business hours, there is typically a 25%-40% up charge for the rush service. We do not offer refunds on rush charges.




DO YOU PICK UP AND DROP OFF MATERIALS?


Yes, if your location is outside a 25 mile radius from our office, we are happy to meet you half way at no extra cost, if pickup and drop off is outside of the 25-mile radius, fees starting at $35 incur depending on the location and distance.




WHAT IF I NEED TO ADD EXTRA ADDRESSES?


If you need envelope addressing for last minute guests and the envelopes has been complete. There is a setup fee of $20, cost of the envelope addressing and any shipping costs.
