Hello old and new members!
I'm excited to host the first Bay Area Meetup of 2020 in San Francisco! Arch Supplies, a local art store in San Francisco, is hosting us at their art space to meetup, practice, and be inspired. I want to meet you all!
WHO CAN COME? Any calligraphy, lettering, doodling, and/or bullet journaling enthusiasts in the San Francisco area and beyond. In this meetup, I want to focus on bringing together a community of local creatives who has an interest in all the mediums above and more. ALL levels and experience are welcome. No really, I'm serious. ALL LEVELS.
WHAT WILL WE DO? ART CHALLENGE: see below. I hope this exercise will help inspire and spark your creativity, but also encourage you to practice and enjoy your lettering/calligraphy journey.
ART CHALLENGE INSTRUCTIONS: 1. Draw a banner or flag 2. Letter 1-3 words inside the banner or flag, it can be words of encouragement, statements, words that motivate you. 3. Bring your work
WHAT TO EXPECT? - we will have refreshments, drinks, and bites - a round of introductions - we'll present our work + chat - feel free to bring your favorite tools to work on your project if you don't have time to do it before - we'll have an informal q&a about anything and everything related to calligraphy + creative business - come mingle! - THIS IS NOT A WORKSHOP, but I'll be happy can give pointers and tips to you on where and how to start.
If you're new to the lettering/calligraphy world and don't know where to start in terms of supplies, Arch Supplies will have starter kits available for purchase at a discounted price.
