WORKSHOP INCLUDES:

- 2.75 hours of hands-on instruction 

- Intro calligraphy starter kit for you to take home (pen holder, dinky dip, nib, ink, and a calligraphy guide with graph paper practice sheets.

This intro workshop explores the art of Pointed-Pen Modern Calligraphy. Modern Calligraphy derives from letter-forms and structures of formal scripts i.e. Copperplate consisting of thin strokes, thick strokes, and ovals. All supplies will be provided (and for you to keep), we will work largely on the foundations of calligraphy which consists of holding the pen, drills, angles and basic strokes. We will then go over the lowercase alphabet and an introduction to the uppercase alphabet.

By the end of the course, you'll have developed a foundation you'll need to continue with pointed-pen calligraphy after the course.

PARKING:

Parking is available in the small parking lot next to Pancoast Pizza. There is also street metered parking on both sides of North Main Street and Lilac Drive. When school isn't in session you can also park at Las Lomas High School, just next door to us.
