10/16: Intro to Brush Calligraphy + Autumn Cards

If you've been meaning to try your hand at brush calligraphy or you've tried before but just couldn't get it right, this intro workshop will introduce you to the techniques and strokes in order to create the beautiful calligraphy that you so often see online. We will be learning fundamental stokes such as thin upstrokes and thick down strokes, ovals, the lowercase letters, and connecting letters. Half of the class will be an introduction to brush calligraphy and for the second half of the class, we will be apply what we learned onto greeting cards!

All supplies will be provided (and for you to keep). 

By the end of the course, you'll have developed a foundation you'll need to continue with brush calligraphy after the course. 

WORKSHOP INCLUDES:

- 2.5 hours of hands-on instruction 

- 2 different brush pens

- Practice guide

- A6 blank greeting card + envelope

- Light snacks and refreshments

LOCATION:

The Traveling Calligrapher Art Studio is located on San Pedro Street in Downtown San Jose. There is a parking structure right on the street, so it's convenient and if you're looking for something to eat, drink or do after class, there's the San Pedro Square Market.
